Course Contents:

The lecture covers a variety of topics on data models and query languages, discussing classical as well as recent developments in database research.
  • Relations: Conjunctive Queries, Query Optimization and Datalog
  • Trees: XML, XPath and XQuery
  • Graphs: RDF and SPARQL

Necessary Prerequisites:

The key course (Kursvorlesung) 'Databases and Information Systems' or an equivalent Database course.

Exam

You have to submit at least 50% of the requested exercises to be qualified to take the exam.

The written exam will take place on September 23rd, 2014, 10:00-11:30

    The results of the exam are now online. The date for reviewing the exam is 08.10.14 between 14.00 and 16.00.

    • Next Tuesday (22.07.2014)
      Will be an exercise session, and the exercise Sheet 6: SPARQL 1.1 & nSPARQL which will be available tomorrow (18.07.2014) on the Exercise page, is due at that session.

      Will be the last exercise session (exercise Sheet 7: TriAL & SPARQL).
